Learn sheet music – Key signatures
Since you've arrived until here it means that you are taking things seriously, so I think it's now time to look more carefully at the sheet music.
What I mean is that other than the musical notes, in the staff you may find more things written on the sheet music.
These things are not musical notes, nor they are articulations or accidentals marks.
What are we talking about is the key signature at the side of the clef.
You'll always find it at the beginning of the sheet music and sometimes inside the sheet music too, when a phrase changes "its key".
This is how it looks like and where it's placed in a sheet music page:
Keys are composed by a single or a group of sharp or flat. You'll never find a key with a mix of those two.
Depending on the amount of sings, the name of the key changes. In the following image is showed how they looks like at the beginning and in the sheet music:
