Color legenda
Veteran members of the website and of the videos too, may have noticed some changes and remember that colors were different before.
You are not wrong, you are not dreaming ... colors are changed.
Here is showed the succession of colors in relation with the musical notes that was used until yesterday.
But people never stop learning and so do I. So I wanted to make it more perfect and I started to experiment.
Asking to a bunch of people and testing the different settings, together we decided to use a different set of colors.
It still has many changes in the color tones from one musical note to another and lacks frills.
This is how the colored notation will be since 2013-09-09.
In this way people with color blindness can recognize every single color. And people with dyslexia will not have trouble recognizing which is the next musical note. People with purple blindness will not have problems too, because there isn't any gray musical note in the scale, so there isn't any possibility to find two different musical notes with the same color.
There are people with different deseases and we want to make things simple for everyone.
You can be a child or an old granny, you can be blind or deaf, you can be alone or in a team. Nothing must stop you from learning what you want to learn. We want to make the learning process less painful and difficult as possible to help you enjoy music.
On the left side column you have the old colors used until yesterday and on the right side column you have the correspondence of the new colors scale.
The changing is in the color only.
This is the old colored notation | This is the new colored notation |
---|---|
C | New C |
D | New D |
E | New E |
F | New F |
G | New G |
A | New A |
B | New B |
The colors are trying to overcome any sight problems for people that are not complitely blind. The most common problems are shown in this diagram:
Hopefully someone with achromatopsia will help to make this color succession even better.
Meanwhile I hope that nobody will have problems with this new color progression. The sheet music and tabs on the website will continue to use the old color notation also. Progressively only the new color scale will be used. If you still want some sheet music with the old colors, you just have to ask and after a short time you'll have your personal colored sheet music in the mail. Have fun and be musical!
Now that you know all the colors that will be used in the colored sheet music of this website, you can take a look at the sheet music tutorial by going at the Learn sheet music - guide list and learn everything you need about sheet music if you have not yet mastered it.
