Tablatures legenda

If you are new on the website you may feel a bit lost trying to find the specific tablatures that you are used to use. It is also possible that you'll not find it or it is named in a weird "M3T2 TT" way.
Because of this, it is better to take a quick overview at all the different types of tablature that can be made.

Starting from simple, the tablature can be a simple progressione of drawing that shows you how to play the song in a very general and personal way.
Often around the internet you will find stuff like this:

unknown tablature
Which song is this? I have no idea either...

This is the problem with general tablature: they lack of something. In some cases even the song title...

On this website you will find general tablature, tablature, colored tablature, tempo tablature. Which is the difference?

Colored tablature

Probably it doesn't even require an explanation but here every tablature can come in a colored way.
Until now there are 2 types of color progressions, so it is better to specify which style you want in your order. There is the old color notation and the new color notation. You can check how they look at the Color legenda article on this website. If you want to have your tabs with a different color progression, you can also ask it. Don't be shy!

General tablatures

It is the one you have already seen in the image on top, for those of you who are able to read it without any fuss.
They can change orientation from left to right (even vertical if you'll ever want it) and both can be colored or not (these are BW or black and white).
These are Model 1 Type 1 and Model 1 Type 2 (M1T1 - M1T2 or simply T1 and T2) for the 10 and 12 holes general ocarina.

Model 1 is refered to the kind of drawing of the ocarina, which is one of the oldest and more simplicized of them all. It doesn't work for every ocarina tough.

They can also come in colored version by request. Because usually tablature are very tiny so you cannot see well which holes are closed and which are open. A fully colored ocarina with a specific color progression can help you a little bit.

Depending on the subholes, these tabs can work for: Aria, Dinda-Lanna, STL, Takashi, TNG,WPN.
If you don't know what the subholes are, please visit the Learn ocarina - Subholes tutorial to learn them all.

Tablatures

These are specifically draw for every ocarina, both in the fingering and the shape. You will always find the ocarina model in the name of the file. To make these tablatures more simple to read, spacings are added to let you understand the phrases of the song. It can help you know the rhythm a bit, but still you'll need to know the song or listen to it while playing.

There may be different models for the same ocarina (depending on your drawing suggestions) and types. The type indicates the inclination of the ocarina. For now there are only two types. If you want to adopt another one, it will be implemented with the other tablatures.

These tabs will come as: Hind Junior C, Infinity 12 holes AC, Noble double AC type 2, Wind SAG, Zin Bass, etc

Tempo Tablature

Now the game become serious, because these are not simple tablatures. In fact together with the ocarina drawing you'll find some marks to tell you the lenght of a musical note, pauses and repetition marks too. In this way you'll be able to play the song even without listening to it.

These tabs are good for intermediate players who wants to take a step between tablature and sheet music, waiting to complitely learn how to read sheet music.

Spectrum

(陶笛譜)
Generally used to describe a combination of two different notations. It is often used to  play sheet music when you are not yet able to read it.
spectrum tablatures sheet music
A combination of sheet music and tablature.

spectrum numerical score tablatures
A combination of numerical score and tablature.

There is also the combination sheet music and numerical score but it's rarely used for playing songs rather than used by students to learn the other kind of notation.
